JANICE MULLER is a theatre and opera director who has worked for companies and festivals across Australia and internationally for over 25 years. She specialises in new work, site specific performance and collaborates as a dramaturg and writer. Recent directing credits include: associate director, dir. Sarah Giles La Traviata (Opera QLD, SOSA and WA Opera), Oedipus Doesn’t Live Here Anymore by Daniel Evans (National Theatre St. Kilda) and Australian Realness by Zoey Dawson (Malthouse Theatre). Janice was resident director at Malthouse Theatre in 2016. Recent theatre credits include:Â
Good Muslim Boy, adapted with Osamah Sami (Malthouse Theatre, Queensland Theatre), Revolt She Said. Revolt Again by Alice Birch (Malthouse). The Tribe, utp/Sydney Festival/Belvoir/Castlemaine State Arts Festival and The Substation and Lake Disappointment (Carriageworks), nominated for five Sydney Theatre Awards. Janice is the recipient of various awards and scholarships. She is a graduate of the Victorian College of the Arts and the University of New South Wales. She served on the board of Arena Theatre Company from 2018 to 2023.
